Alisha: This is Must-Know Afrikaans Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 16. In this lesson you'll learn how to describe people.
Alisha: Use these expressions to describe peoples' physical appearance, but be careful as some of them might be slightly offensive.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Dewan: dik
Dewan: hemelwese
Dewan: lang maer blonde man
Dewan: spiertier
Alisha: Dewan, what's our first expression?
Dewan: dik
Alisha: This literally means "thick." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "fat."

Alisha: Use this slang expression when you want to say that a person or an animal is fat. Be careful when you use this word, as it might offend people who are self-conscious about their weight.
