Alisha: You will find these expressions useful when you want to describe a situation where you were deceived by someone, especially when making a purchase.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Alisha: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:

Dewan: 'n rat voor die oë draai
Dewan: kat in die sak koop

Alisha: Dewan, what's our first expression?
Dewan: skobbejak
Alisha: It doesn’t have a literal meaning. But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "a villian."

Alisha: Use this slang expression when you want to say that someone is a villain or a scoundrel.

Alisha: This literally means "turn a gear in front of your eyes." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "deceive."

Alisha: This literally means "buy a cat in the bag." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "a bad purchase."
